women’s love of land in agriculture conference to be presented virtually | Farm and ranch
LINCOLN – The Nebraska Extension Women in Agriculture program will host the Love of the Land conference for women farmland owners and tenants looking to improve their business management skills on December 9 via Zoom.
Industry experts will present workshops on rental contracts, rental rates, crop and livestock insurance and more.
Allan Vyhnalek, Farm and Ranch Estate Educator at Nebraska Extension, will greet attendees with an opening speech, “For the sake of the land and your effective relationships, it’s about communication. “
Vyhnalek has spent the past 33 years in extension work in Iowa and Nebraska. His current role at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln allows him to help farm families through generational transfers.
“Addressing the challenges of owning and leasing farmland is becoming increasingly complex, especially given the recent volatility in commodity markets and input prices,” said Jessica Groskopf, program director. Women in Agriculture.
“The conference will prepare attendees with the knowledge and confidence to make effective management decisions while better managing risk and improving the profitability of their operations. “
The conference is free but registration is required. For more information about the conference and to register, visit the Nebraska Women in Agriculture website at https://wia.unl.edu.
