Wire Park Announces New Tenants | New

A trio of new tenants are joining Wire Park, Gibbs Capital announced last week.

Apotheos Roastery, Best Level Basketball and Mackay Dental Associates are the latest to commit to mixed-use development in Watkinsville near Barnett Shoals Road.

Apotheos Roastery’s line of cold brew coffees comes from University of Georgia alumni who are members of the Classic City Collective, which supports UGA student-athletes.

“Wire Park’s desire to create a gathering place for the Watkinsville community immediately appealed to us,” said CEO Dale Hughes. “We look forward to sharing a great cup of coffee and sharing many good times.”

Mackay Dental Associates is a full-service dental practice led by Dr. Elisse Mackay.

Best Level Basketball will provide a comprehensive training approach to a popular sport. It is founded by JD Powell, former assistant coach of the UGA men’s basketball team.

In addition to this newly announced wave of tenants, several businesses are set to open their doors to the public in Wire Park. South Main Brewing, Oconee County’s first craft brewery, will open in early October, while Athens Running Company, Bird Dog Boutique and Sugar Polish Nail Bar will open in early November.

After more than 50 years as a cable manufacturing plant, Wire Park will include 130 residential units, expansive green spaces and 225,000 square feet of commercial, office and retail space, a food hall, a indoor baseball practice facility and the Oconee County Library.
