Pa. Plaza landlords say tenant’s smoking terrace flouted lease

By Faith Williams (July 20, 2022, 7:25 p.m. EDT) — A surprise smoking terrace that appeared outside a cigar bar at a Pittsburgh mall prompted mall owners to file a lawsuit on Wednesday, claiming the company didn’t have the right to build the bridge on top of a parking lot.

According to the lawsuit filed in the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas by the owners of Heritage Square Plaza, the patio is not permitted under the cigar store’s lease agreement and covers the parking spaces the owners need to comply with local code.
